The West Branch Mini Endurance | September 16, 2012

The Cleveland Area Mountain Bike Association has turned West Branch State Park into the crown jewel of Northeast Ohio Mountain Biking. West Branch State Park is just outside of Ravenna, a short drive from Cleveland, Akron and Youngstown. Ten miles of world class singletrack with a wide variety of terrain and scenic lake views makes West Branch an ideal location for fast, challenging mountain bike racing. West Branch will host the endurance leg, stage #9 of the Ohio Power Series. The West Branch Endurance Race will test riders ability to endure long hours in the saddle riding challenging terrain. Endurance racing has become the fastest growing segment of mountain bike racing and an endurance race at the most popular trail in the area is sure to make for an outstanding event.

XC Race day goodie bags include samples from: Emergen-C, revive, Larabar, Chamois Butt'r, Monster Energy, Clif Bar, Wheaties Fuel and more.

- Speed Pass - $29.00 (pre-season purchase only)
- Mail-in Pre-registration - $38.00, $25.00 For Women 19 & Up
- Online Pre-registration - $41.00, $27.00 For Women 19 & Up
- Race Day "Late" registration - $50.00, $30.00 For Women 19 & Up*
- ALL Juniors 18 & Under- $20.00

* as events continue to grow we have raised the day of race registration simply to encourage pre-registration. This enables us to prepare food orders, ensure accurate start times and avoid delays due to data processing of late participant entries

Cut off Times:
Expert - 5hr. cut-off time for last lap
Sport - 3.5hr. cut-off time for last lap
Beginner - 2hr. cut-off time for last lap

Hours plus format as follows example...come in under time period for your class go out for final lap. Check in after time expires for your class thats your finish time and total lap count. example: sport racer comes in at 3 laps at 3hours 25 minutes thus they can go out for another lap. Sport racer comes in at 3 hours 35 minutes they missed the cut off time and final placement will be based on 3 laps at 3:35. Beginner racer finishes their first lap at 1 hour 30 minutes, they can go out for another lap. Come in after 2 hours that is the finishing time and final lap count.

Start: staggered start by class
Aid Station: There will be an aid station mid way on Cable Line Rd.
Staging Area/Pit/Feed Zone: At the start/finish area there will be a designated area for racers and their crews to place tents, food, parts.
Spare BikeThis is grass roots racing, a fun encouraging environment is encouraged. For the Enduro race a spare bike may be kept in the staging/pit area. If the racer makes it back to the staging area the contestant is allowed to re-enter the race where he left off and finish that race as not to have a DNF.

Trail: bit-o-honey and other expert sections will be avoided. The new trail and rock section that follows will not be in the race. Same course as last year.
